Foobar2000 unrecoverable playback error1/17/2024 ![]() I can't for the life of me figure out what could be causing it. This happens on average 1 to 5 times a day. Again, usually when I have no sound at all, restarting the computer will no fix it, I have to clean uninstall the driver and re-install. I have to uninstall and re-install the audio driver, as rebooting the operating system will not fix the sound issue at all. To make matters worse, seemingly 60% of the time this happens, restarting the Audio Service will do nothing at all. DS3D could be on of off - makes no difference. With the stable release there were no problems. Also the initialization of playback takes a long time. Disabling DS3D works, but the options to change Output/Dither are still unavailable. I will have to right click and Speakers on the Taskbar and click on Playback Devices, and it will restart the Audio Service, making me having to reopen any applications that use sound as they won't be registered. Unrecoverable playback error: Device not found (0x88780078) Reply 7 19:38:16. Though it is possible it would, as usually I have a game open pretty often if I am near my computer (not giving much time for it to occur otherwise). But when I try to setup a higher samplerate of 88200 or 176400 I get this error: 'Unrecoverable playback error: Unsupported stream format: 176400 Hz / 24-bit / 2 channels' I guess the bit-rate and samplerate do not work together. And it seems to require a game playing, as I don't remember it happening from just youtube. Foobar plays the DSD files, I guess they are converted to PCM 44100. (or to say when using sound it happens, if no audio is playing it doesn't happen. When playing different games, and having youtube usually open in Chrome these errors occur. I just thought I'd leave this here, since I don't blog/tweet.Something is strange with WINDOWS 10 圆4, Xonar DX and all your current drivers 1816/1882 & STX II 11.5 1.75 Its looks like the compressed audio file (like mp3) sound much better with foo upnp output (that recompress mp3 audio file to wave format) then listen to same. See more posts like this in r/foobar2000. ![]() Guessing its something wrong with the files but I cant figure out what. Second foobar + foo upnp - Playback Stream Capture - select to output of my sound card and playing the music. Keep getting 'Unrecoverable playback error: Endpoint creation failed' on media that works in other players I have tried every fix I could find, none seemed to work, including a device restart. I don't want to jinx things, but no clicks so far :-) First foobar + foo upnp output + set to null output - streaming the music. I don't even recall having any enhancements for that adapter! Maybe whatever this was will even fix the clicks I still get ever since the upgrade to 10. Sound now works in foobar2000 and MPC-HC again. In Settings, Playback, Output, I select the device called: > Default: Analog (1+2) (RME ADI-2 DAC) Choosing this, all music plays well, but the DAC always shows the sample rate selected in the Madiface driver settings, even when incorrect. ![]() Windows then suggested that (taking some other forum topic for the exact wording) "Windows has detected that audio enhancements for the following device are causing problems", referring to the onboard Realtek High Definition Audio, and switched the enhancements off for me. Windows sounds and Firefox/HTML5 audio still worked, while MPC-HC just pretended to play sound.Ĭhanging the output settings in foobar2000 did nothing, so I opened the Sound control panel to take a look. Too many people trying to catch too many wild geese …) (As is always the case with error messages, the "specified" object was not specified! I am not sure that computers will reach the point of specifying the offending objects and parameters within even my lifetime. Unrecoverable playback error: The specified module could not be found. I just rebooted Windows 10 for updates, and after the reboot, foobar2000 started logging the following every time I tried to play anything:
